DOM (Depth Offset Mapping)
DOM works by applying a depth map to materials to create the illusion of bumps and details without changing the actual geometry. It's used in a variety of our materials to give the appearance of depth where there is none. The common alternative is POM (Parallax Occlusion Mapping), which is better at handling self-occlusion and the interaction of light with depth. However, it is generally more taxing on systems, so there isn't too much of a benefit to using it for the small increase in fidelity.
ARO (Albedo Roughness Occlusion)
Albedos represent the base colour or reflectivity of a surface, roughness maps change how smooth a surface appears, and the occlusion map describes where ambient light is likely to be obstructed, casting smaller local shadows.
